Meet tory

  • My two dogs and cat are the best co-workers I could ask for and all three are named after Greek or Roman goddesses.

  • Choosing which of my fuzzy, wacky, or holiday socks to wear is my favorite part of getting ready in the morning.

  • I go to sleep at night already excited for my first cup of coffee the next morning.

  • I believe that the best therapists have done their own therapy.

  • How i work

  • I am here to help you cultivate a more kind and compassionate relationship with yourself. So often birthing people feel a disconnect from their sense of self when transitioning into being a parent, and I am passionate about repairing that connection. I believe that supporting birthing people through pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum is a privilege; these experiences are vulnerable, but with the right support, they can become empowering.

The experience of prenatal or postpartum mental health disorders is too rarely spoken about, which can lead to alienation and fear, but there is an entire worldwide community of birthing people, with a similar experience to you, who are cheering you on towards healing. As Postpartum Support International states, “You are not alone. You are not to blame. With help, you will be well.”

My therapeutic style is deeply rooted in attachment, trust, non-judgment, and radical self love. I utilize somatic approaches, neuroscience, wisdom from nature, and psychodynamic theory. I have been practicing as a therapist for 8 years. I received a Masters of Arts in Counseling Psychology from The Wright Institute in Berkeley, California and am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Colorado with a certification in Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C). I have worked in a variety of community mental health settings and with a wide range of populations. For the last few years, I have specialized in supporting birthing people through pregnancy and postpartum. I have experience supporting clients through infant loss, miscarriage, traumatic pregnancy complications/ births, perinatal depression, perinatal anxiety, perinatal OCD, perinatal panic disorder, and often the overwhelming adjustment to new parenthood.

I have had the honor of supporting people through the lowest and darkest moments of their lives towards healing, joy, and self love. I always hold the promise of hope and healing, especially when that person cannot hold it for themselves. If you are looking for someone to align with you in a holistic, person centered, and trusting relationship, I may be the right therapist for you.
